getting a glock for christmas and was wondering if I had to pick just one, what would it be in anybodys opinion. Im thinking the G19 or this. I would like to not go full size either compact or sub thanks for anybodys response

It’s not terrible, but it is a small light pistol so you feel it more to me. Might be a bit of an adustment to someone used to a larger & heavier 9mm.

Go for the Glock 27. Same size as the 26 but chambered in .40S&W (accurate as a 9mm but with the same stopping power as a .45). One less round in the factory magazine, though (9rds for the 27, 10 for the 26). Also .40 is usually just as cheap as 9mm.

7:10 you didnt seat the spring all the way down onto the half moon of the barrel thats why you had trouble putting the slide on

If you can conceal a G19 on your person with your usual clothing, w/ a IWB holster, I’d go for it over a sub compact. Having the additional rounds available will likely be more beneficial than having a slightly more powerful round. Normally the G19 works fine for me, the G22 during winter (bulkier clothing) or hiking. The G26 would be ideal for those times I need to be sure the grip doesnt print or bump into something/someone. .40S&W costs significantly more than 9mm, $13 vs. $20.

The times I shot a Glock 26, it had a little bit of snap to it on recoil,, then a Glock 21SF I was shooting with it the same day. Which to me was surprising because the 21sf was a 45acp but then again, the 21 is a full size against the 26 being a sub compact.

Good choice. a Glock 19 is good, 15 rounds of 9mm and its a compact. if you want a little more knockdown power get Glock 23 .40cal(compact) or glock 27 .40cal(subcompact). or u could go glock 30 . 45(sub compact)
