Tennessee Governor Says He Will Veto Bill That Allows Guns In Bars
Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen says he intends to veto a bill to allow state handgun permit holders to take their weapons into bars and other establishments serving alcohol. Legislative leaders are predicting an override, however.

Wisconsin gun fee raised 60%
MADISON, Wis. – Background-check fees on handgun purchases would increase less than Gov. Jim Doyle wanted, under a proposal approved by the Legislature’s budget committee.
The Joint Finance Committee voted 12-4 Tuesday to increase the fee from $8 to $13. Doyle had wanted to raise it to $30.
